This is a 5/4 size compact wrap rotary valve BBb tuba made by Miraphone in Waldkreiberg, Germany. It has a large .835" bore through the four valves and an 18.5" bell. Features include adjustable thumb ring, nickel leadpipe, nickle bell garland, clear lacquer finish, rotor play adjustment screws and absolutely silent linkages.
This tuba was purchased new by a student from here in 2016, and due to playing CC and F tuba exclusively recently, he asked me to sell it. There looks to be little wear or damage except for a small ding on the front of the bottom bow and a few dings on the left side where your left hand holds the instrument. Nothing worth fixing except for vanity, and hardly anything large enough to show in the photos. There is a small bit of acid bleed on the rim where the bell touches the floor when you put it down. It's an unsightly mark, but rarely seen since it's pointing away from everyone. You could polish it out. It's part of tubas. This is a nice playing tuba with big broad sound, an electric response and an open low range that asks to play Prokofiev. If I had to play BBb tuba, I choose the 191.
Includes brand new SKB 385W wheeled hard case, a $600 value. Mouthpiece sold separately.
