This is the inline rotor version of the 1662 bass trombone by Kanstul Musical Instruments in Anaheim, California. It has a slightly wider Bach-width hand slide to all extra neck clearance around the rotor section. Placing a lightweight tuning mechanism in the hand slide allows the bell section taper to be perfectly conical, which improves response and open feel in the low range. Includes Kanstul 1-1/2G mouthpiece, Protec PB309CT case, and 3 leadpipes:
We offer 2 bells choices: 1-piece .020" bronze, which is fairly light and snappy, making a very light instrument and a terrific commercial bass trombone sound. The second is a .025" red brass bell which has some weight to it and may be more popular with the classical players.
June 2018: We have a 1662I at a slightly lower price. It's brand new and factory fresh, but has a few minor blemishes: lacquer blem on the bottom of the Gb crook (not easily seen), a few fibers in the lacquer of the bell, also insignificant.
