Lead Z

0.655”

Medium V

0.144” #27

The Jazz Lead Z is a great lead piece! Based off the popular Vizzutti mouthpiece rim diameter, but with a slightly longer cylindrical section in the back bore and a more V shaped cup. Designed to project, and make the sustained high and loud playing lock in with ease, this mouthpiece is very efficient and comfortable to play for extended periods of time.

Lead J

0.638”

Medium

0.144” #27

Based off the popular Bobby Shew mouthpiece, it has a traditional inner rim diameter, and is slightly more open in the back bore. The cup is more U-shaped as well compared to our other lead mouthpieces. It is designed to project a large core of sound while remaining easy to play for extended periods in the extreme upper range.

Lead S

0.644”

Very Shallow

0.144” #27

The Jazz Lead S is a shallow screamer! A blend between the Shew and Vizzutti Back bores, with a very shallow U shaped cup. Designed to project and make the sustained high playing easier. This mouthpiece is for people who need a screamer but don't always play these parts. The very shallow cup is not for you if you have a tendency to bottom out.

Gil Kaupp

0.640”

Shallow

?

Gil's mouthpiece started out as our shallow 7 Helios mouthpiece, but we made some improvements to the back bore and designed a mouthpiece that is easy to play for extended lead gigs. Gil plays in several bands in Las Vegas, and needs a mouthpiece that can project and be heard in some of the loudest bands around. This mouthpiece has more core of sound than a typical lead piece, but it plays louder, higher, and easier than anything you have ever tried.

Matthew Muckey

0.672”

?

0.152” #24

We are excited to have Matthew Muckey as a new signature model mouthpiece performer. Matt's mouthpiece is similar in size to a traditional Bach 1-1/4 mouthpiece. This mouthpiece projects a solid core and clear focused sound with easy articulations. While being balanced in the extreme registers of playing, solid from the softest to the loudest of orchestral playing needs.

Dave Hickman BB

0.673”

Deep

0.152” #24

Designed specially for Dave Hickman, this is the Big Boy. Available with two different rim styles: a wide rim that Dave has used forever, and a more traditional Bach style rim. Dave's rim is based on an old Neil Sanders rim made in the "comfort rim" style.  The rim width is almost twice that of a standard rim, so only a few players will want this rim.  Mr. Giddings found that some of the Southern California Banda trumpeters were particularly taken with this wide comfort rim.  The rim is extremely comfortable and can be played for hours without the typical exhaustion and fatigue that occurs on a more traditional rim. The more common rim style on the Hickman mouthpieces is known as the "TBR".  Traditional Bach Rim.  Most players will want that.  Available in both a satin finish (for more grip) and a shiny finish (for those who like a slippery rim). This mouthpiece is at home in any playing situation, from orchestral to chamber music. This mouthpiece really does it all. It is easy to play loud, and soft, and the extreme highs and lows are effortless. The tone is also easily manipulated to fit the ensembles in which you are playing.  This mouthpiece is labeled "Dave Hickman TBR" without any cup depth labeled.  If your mouthpiece is one of the other Hickman sizes below, it has an additional label of MD, M or S.

Dave Hickman MD

0.673”

Medium Deep

0.152” #24

We now offer a Medium Deep Cup Hickman mouthpiece. Available in satin and polished finishes with the Hickman rim or traditional Bach style rim.

Dave Hickman M

0.673”

Medium

0.147” #26

This mouthpiece has the same cup diameter as the regular Hickman model, but is slightly shallower and the throat is a #26 drill size. The cup shape is similar to the regular cup, just not quite as deep. This mouthpiece is perfect for works that are slightly higher than normal, or where a brighter tone quality is desired. It is perfect for E-flat trumpet. Available in satin and polished with both the original and Hickman rims.

Dave Hickman S

0.673”

Shallow

?

This is a shallow cup mouthpiece designed for Dave Hickman. Available with two different rim styles: a wide rim that Dave has used forever, and a more traditional Bach style rim. Dave's rim is extremely comfortable, and can be played for hours without the typical exhaustion, and fatigue that occurs on a more traditional rim. Available in both a satin finish (for more grip) and a shiny finish (for those who like a slippery rim). This mouthpiece is at home in any playing situation, from orchestral to chamber music. This mouthpiece really does it all! It is easy to play loud, and soft, and the extreme highs and lows are effortless. The tone is also easily manipulated to fit the ensembles in which you are playing.
