This is a fiberglass hard case that fits nearly all double valve bass trombones. It's made by Eastman Winds in China and is also sold as the JW-Eastman case by Jakob Winter .
The outside shell has a pebble finish, and is painted in one of several color choices. Five nickel plated latches secure the case, and a rubber seal at the case edge allows a weatherproof closure. Two padded backpack straps are included. The bottom and large end of the case have plastic feet for two standing positions. Small pockets inside the case allow minimal storage of small items.
Like the Eastman tenor trombone case, this bass case holds the hand slide in the lid of the case. One end of the slide is placed inside a padded bag at the large end of the case, and a rigid door closes over the rest of the slide. For rough travel, we recommend placing some extra padding between the hand slide and bell flare. Maybe a towel or a shirt will do it.
We stock these in silver and black. The black is actually a gun metal grey. Other colors are available by special order. We think these two are the sleekest of the color choices. Gloss finish is not available on this case.
