This is a lightly used King 3B Legend tenor trombone, purchased from the factory. Now made in Elkhart Indiana USA, this classic tenor trombone design has a large 8" brass bell and .509" weighted nickel hand slide for lots of projection. The latest generation of King trombones are instruments to be proud of. The bells have beautiful floral engraving. The vintage balance weight is removable without tools. The workmanship is clean and the new case is high style.
Things happen though...This particular King looks to be a show display model or maybe a dealer return that has some fierce acid bleed on the bell rim, also a small amount at the connector. This is caused when there's a small hole in the solder at the bell rim and some moisture is captured under the lacquer. Temperature swings during shipping may accelerate this. To fix this you have to strip the lacquer in the area and buff it, then touch up. And it may happen again. I wondered if some metallic brass-colored paint couldn't be dabbed on there to hide it. Or send the bell out for silver plating. That would be super cool.
Other than the acid bleed blemishes there are no dents or marks and few signs of use. Slide action is excellent, very nice player. Includes King faux-carbon case and King mouthpiece. Case has single shoulder strap.
Includes Horn Guys 1 year warranty, excluding finish.
