Four Fanfares for All Occasions for 4 Trumpets by Irving Bush, pub. Trigram
"The original idea for composing 'Four Fanfares For All Occasions' began when the Los Angeles Philharmonic trumpet section was asked to play several short pieces for the annual Palos Verdes [California] Peninsula Fair in 1977. Subsequently I thought it appropriate to write a series of fanfares of different textures for various occasions. 'Out Of The Past' was written to signal the beginning of an ancient happening. 'Motion' is intended to announce something exciting is about to occur and 'Present Tense' sets the scene for a contemporary event in the here and now."
-- Irving Bush
