 This Ion Balu (say "Yawn Baloo" mute is a new and revolutionary tuba mute. It is made of a fiberglass shell wrapped in a high quality wood veneer.  It has great resonance in all registers with no fuzzy, stuffy, or distorted notes. It also features a new interchangeable cork system which finally solves the continuous nuisance that all tuba players face... how to find a mute that will fit more than one tuba, given the great number of brands, and sizes. It only takes a few minutes to find the corks that will fit your instrument. Do you want to use your other tuba? Quickly change the corks, and your new mute will fit your other instrument. We recommend the XL mute for very large 5/4 and 6/4 tubas.  Hand made in Tennessee, USA.
