Kanstul 1525

|
This is the horn that Zig Kanstul is most proud of -
consider it one of the top flugels available. Handmade in Los Angeles,
this beautiful copper flugel stands out from the crowd. All the
cats play this one. Features a copper bell, big warm soloistic sound,
and a design based on the Couesnon Monopol bell. Large 6 1/2" one-piece copper
bell, .421" bore, third slide trigger, clear lacquer finish.
Other finishes by special order. Case and mouthpiece are sold
separately. |

Kanstul Chicago 1025

|
Classic Benge and French Besson style design, slightly brighter with a more compact
sound than the 1525, popular with doublers, .415" bore, 6"
brass bell, third slide trigger, bottom sprung pistons,
includes Chicago triple gig bag and FB mouthpiece. We usually
stock this model in silver plate. Other finishes available by
special order. This is Charlie Davis' favorite flugelhorn, and is
actually based on an 1890's French Besson now owned by Hal Oringer.
Hal's horn was one of the price winning horns at the 1890 Paris
Exposition. |

B&S Challenger I 3145-L
 |
The Challenger I
flugel is a terrific professional instrument. It is comfortable to hold,
the workmanship is top notch and it is an excellent player. The blow is
consistent and in tune and the sound is classic flugel . This model has
a one piece hand hammered bell flare, vented valves for no popping,
nickel silver outer slides and monel pistons. This is a smaller flugel,
similar to the French Bessons, rather than the Kanstul 1525 and other
Couesnon style instruments. Third slide trigger is included and very
comfortable on the hands. In lacquer with case.

believe these are similar to or the same as the Kanstul Chicago flugel.
Hand hammered, hand spun one-piece bell, third slide trigger, leadpipe
tuning, all lacquered brass. Includes Kanstul French Besson mouthpiece,
and a Protec case. If you need a flugel double, here is a professional
horn at a student horn price. Only a few left.
