Haag Model 33 Tenor Trombone

I first learned about Franz Manschau and his beautiful line of Haag trombones through the word of a few Los Angeles players who purchased Franz's contrabass trombones.  Franz is a Swiss craftsman of the highest caliber, and is consistently rated at the top of the instrument makers guild. His trombones are so accurately made, that one player was able to switch inner and outer slides from two trombones and the slide action was just as good.  I also see Franz at the Frankfurt Musikmesse trade show each year, and last year I returned home with one of his Model 33 medium bore tenor trombones for my personal collection.  This is the horn I use for all my classical work.  There is truly nothing like it, and I'm proud to own one of these rare horns.

This year we have ordered several trombones from Haag, including two large bore Model 39 tenor trombones and a Model 43 bass.  They are scheduled to arrive in October 2006.  If you are considering ordering a Model 33 and would like to try Steve's horn in the store, please call for an appointment.  The 33 is available as a straight tenor, or with choices of three valves:  Haag axial flow, Laztsch rotary, or Hagmann valve.  Nickel slides are optional, and the entire horn can be made in yellow or gold brass.
