Michael Davis graduated from Oberlin with a
Bachelors degree in trumpet performance. While at Oberlin he studied
with Roy Poper. He currently working on a Masters Degree at the University of Southern California and
is studying with Boyde Hood. He has also studied with Rob Roy McGregor,
Louis Ranger, and Kevin Brown. He performs with the American Youth Symphony, Debut Orchestra,
Riverside Symphony, USC Symphony and Chamber
Orchestra and recordings for movies and TV. Mike was a member and founder of the Tappan
Brass Quintet. He has attended the Aspen Music Festival and Eastern Music
Festival. His instruments include a Yamaha 8310Z, Ken Larson GFT C, Bach
37 customized by Ken Larson, Josef Monke C Rotary, Yamaha D trumpet, Schilke E3L, Schilke P5-4, and a Yamaha Flugel. Mike plays
a Mt Vernon 1 1/4C mouthpiece. |
